Shared Instrumentation Laboratories - Davis Hall Clean Room

Overview of Services

Commissioned in 2012, the University at Buffalo’s 7-bay, 5,000 sq. ft. Davis Hall Cleanroom is the most advanced in the Buffalo Niagara region. It features Class 1,000 space with Class 100 working areas – well-equipped for electronic device research, processing and development, materials characterization, micro- and nanofabrication and other processes. It is one of several Shared Instrumentation Laboratories (SIL) operated by UB’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

The facility offers a variety of scientific tools and instruments with capabilities for deposition, e-beam and focused-ion-beam lithography, etching, metrology & microscopy, photolithography, sample preparation, and thermal processing and analysis.

A searchable online equipment database (see http://www.buffalo.edu/shared-facilities-equip/facilities-equipment/SearchEquipment.html) helps link users to the state-of-the-art tools that best meet their research, development, testing and evaluation needs.

The Davis Hall Cleanroom is available for shared use by: UB students, UB faculty, Researchers at other academic institutions, as well as Government and Industry researchers and scientists.

New users will also be required to register with iLab at Shared Instrumentation Laboratories - Davis Hall Clean Room
