The Cryo-EM Center at UB-HWI houses a Thermo Fisher Glacios Cryo-TEM operating at 200kV with a Falcon 4 direct electron detector. In addition to cryo-TEM imaging, we routinely perform single particle analysis, tomography, and microcrystal electron diffraction (microED) experiments. A Thermo Fisher Vitrobot is available for sample preparation by plunge-freezing, and a multi-GPU cluster allows on-the-fly data processing to assess sample quality, as well as in-depth data processing. Expert assistance is provided for all steps from experiment design to data processing. The center is open for use by the UB community, external academic groups, and external industry researchers.
